3. Sazkirin û Sazkirin

Installation of the TECHPICCO Hood Struts is designed to be straightforward and requires no drilling. The process typically takes 30 minutes or less.

Amûrên Pêdivî:

  • Basic wrench set (sizes may vary, typically 10mm or 13mm for bolts)

Gavên Sazkirinê:

  1. Hoodê amade bikin: Open your vehicle's hood and secure it with the factory prop rod. Identify the rectangular holes on the underside of the hood, near the hinges, and the mounting points in the engine bay.
  2. Install Upper Ball Joint Bolt: Locate the rectangular hole on the hood. Insert the blind-nut portion of the upper ball joint bolt into this hole. Align it vertically and push it into place. Ensure it is securely seated.
  3. Install Lower Mudguard Bracket: Identify the existing bolt in the engine bay near the fender/mudguard area. Remove this bolt. Place the mudguard bracket over the hole, aligning it with the existing mounting point. Re-insert and tighten the original bolt to secure the bracket.
  4. Attach Gas Spring (Lower): Take one gas spring. Insert the rod end (thinner part) of the gas spring onto the ball joint bolt of the newly installed mudguard bracket (lower connection point). Push firmly until it clicks into place.
  5. Attach Gas Spring (Upper): Carefully remove the factory prop rod. While supporting the hood, insert the body end (thicker part) of the gas spring onto the ball joint bolt installed on the underside of the hood (upper connection point). Push firmly until it clicks into place.
  6. Ji bo aliyê din dubare bikin: Follow steps 2-5 for the opposite side of the hood.
  7. Operasyona Testê: Gently lower and raise the hood to ensure both struts operate smoothly and hold the hood securely in the open position.

4. Telîmatên Operating

Operating your new hood struts is simple and intuitive:

  • Girtina kapûtê: To close the hood, gently pull it downwards. The struts will provide a controlled descent. Once the hood is nearly closed, apply a firm, even pressure to fully latch it. Avoid slamming the hood.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TECHPICCO Hood Struts, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Paqijkirina bi rêkûpêk: Periodically wipe down the struts with a clean, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ji bo zirarê kontrol bikin: Routinely check the struts for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Ensure the mounting points are secure and the ball joints are free of debris.
  • Rûnkirin: The gas springs are sealed units and do not require internal lubrication. However, a small amount of silicone spray can be applied to the ball joint connections if any squeaking occurs.
  • Ji Hêza Zêde dûr Bikevin: Do not attempt to force the hood open or closed beyond its natural range of motion, as this can damage the struts.

6. Destpêkirin

If you encounter any issues with your hood struts, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Hood Not Lifting Fully: Ensure both struts are properly installed and securely attached at all connection points. Check for any obstructions preventing full extension. In very cold weather, gas struts may operate slightly slower.
  • Hood Not Staying Up: This indicates a loss of pressure in one or both gas springs. Inspect for visible damage or leaks. If a strut has failed, it will need to be replaced.
  • Deng an qîrîn: Check the ball joint connections for cleanliness. A small amount of silicone spray on the ball joints can often resolve minor noises.
  • Difficulty Closing Hood: Ensure no obstructions are present. The struts are designed for controlled closing; however, if it feels excessively stiff, verify correct installation and alignment.
